This class is for those living with conditions such as fibromyalgia, chronic low back pain, and arthritis. Traditional yoga methods will be used in conjunction with evidence-based approaches & understanding of movement & chronic pain. The intention is to create a safe space where we can both work towards improvement of symptoms well putting into practice a respect for our own personal limits at this moment in time. In order to achieve the above we will be using all the tools that yoga offers: postures (asana), breathing (pranayama), meditation (dhyana), & potentially some simple chants (mantra). We will do our practice in accordance with yoga philosophy, in particular the aspects of yoga which speak to ahimsa (non-harm/compassion & gentleness with yourself). Each student will be asked to complete an intake form in order to have particular practices integrated into the class to serve their individual needs & goals.
