With age or sometimes due to pathology, balance & coordination can become more challenging & lead to difficulty in once simple daily tasks . This series will aim to improve/maintain physical abilities such as coordination, balance, strength & flexibility. We will strive to enhance quality of life through improvement of these physical capacities, making daily tasks easier, & reducing risks of falls. We will begin this series primarily with seated chair & laying floor work- focusing on good posture, coordination, flexibility, strength, & relaxation/restoration. Guided movement to music will also be used as a way to practice coordination in a fun way. After creating a foundation with seated & laying postures, we will integrate standing balance work- using the support of a wall or chair for balance. The small class size will allow for individual modifications to be given . An intake form & discussion with each participant will allow for a class tailored to each students needs/abilities.
